The Jesuits, The Church and The Papacy, An Interview with Fr. Joseph Fessio, S.J. by Mark Brumley

From the CD sleeve: The election of Pope Francis, the first Jesuit pope in Church history, has dramatically increased popular interest in the Jesuit Order. In this presentation, Mark Brumley interviews Ignatius Press's founder and editor, Jesuit Father Joseph Fessio. He shares the story and influence of the Jesuits throughout Church History, reflects on his own life and experience as a Jesuit, and speaks especially about Pope Francis.

Fr. Fessio and Mark Brumley
My Take:  Fascinating! You will not be able to turn this off. I love the interview format  between Mark Brumley, president of Ignatius Press and Fr. Joseph Fessio, the founder of Ignatius Press. Fr. Fessio is so interesting with his first hand knowledge of the church and the papacy.

In this talk, Fr. Fessio shares his own journey as a Jesuit, the founding of the Jesuit order, and background on St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. Fr. Fessio studied under Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, now pope emeritus Benedict XVI and knows so much about the papacy. He relates all of these stories in a warm and heartfelt way and lets us get to know the most famous Jesuit today, Pope Francis. Fr. Fessio brings real history to us in an enthralling way.
Through the true stories of his own life, he gives us a bird's eye view of the Catholic Church in the last 50 years. I can't recommend this talk enough.
